Pricing

Often, customer state that they only paid $X for their item and why is shipping so expensive. Our shipping rates are based on the dimensions and weight of the items, now the value.

There are a few things to consider when setting our pricing.

1. AUCTION HOUSE — Customer picks which auction house their items are coming from. Each house can have a shipping surcharge attached (set by the auction). Once the dev team wires the API, the dropdown populates from the real auction house list.
2. BOX COUNT — 1, 2, or 3 boxes. Same limit as what the warehouse team works with in practice.
3. BOX DIMENSIONS — For each box, the customer enters length, width, height (in inches) and weight (in pounds). Exactly the same four fields the warehouse team fills in when they physically measure and weigh a box before selecting a carrier rate.
4. Postal code — The customer's delivery address prefix. Once wired, this goes to the carrier API alongside the dimensions to get a real rate back.

Other costs

Since there is no software for delivery in this industry, we developed our own software. The software you use to create your account is connected directly to the auction, our warehouse, and our drivers. This was not cheap and we see it as in investment into our industry.

Some auctions provide services such as having all items on pallets and ready for pick up. When the auction charges us for these additional handling costs, we made the difficult decision to pass those costs on to the final delivery customer. We reviewed paying them from our profits, but there is just not enough savings in our pick up process to absorb those costs.

Have you ever priced out warehouse space in Mississauga? Our location, near the Pearson Int'l Airport is one of our largest monthly costs. Along with our employees and other costs (third party delivery) we cannot do much to reduce the cost of your delivery.

Alternative

We are now open for pick up at our depot. This is a great option for some people and reduces the delivery cost by about 50%.

You can send us a shipping label and we will apply it to the box. Keep in mind that we still need to pack the items that we picked up for you.
